Help Shape the Future of Our Workforce and Liveability

There is a new collaborative effort underway to better understand the unique challenges facing rural communities. Tourism Golden, the Town of Golden, CSRD Area A, Golden CED, and the Golden Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Tourism HR Canada to conduct vital research in the Golden area.

Why This Research Matters

The goal is to dive deep into the specific workforce challenges that rural areas face. This isn’t just about jobs; the research team will also be looking at critical “infrastructure pinch-points” that affect daily life, such as:

  • Housing
  • Healthcare
  • Childcare
  • Transportation

All data and tools created during this process will be shared back with the community to ensure local decision-makers have the most reliable, up-to-date information available.

We Want to Hear From You!

To get a complete picture of the labor and liveability landscape, the research team is looking to connect with a broad range of community members, including:

  • Job-seekers and employees
  • Local businesses and support agencies
  • Community organizations and leaders
  • Anyone who can share insights into local challenges

How to Get Involved

The research will be conducted through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. Keep an eye out for updates on our website and social media regarding when the research team will be in town. Your insights and experiences are essential to this project’s success.

For thousands of years, the abundance of the earth’s lands and waters provided us to live, work and play is a result of the ecological wisdom, stewardship and reciprocal relationship of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc peoples whose unceded territory we continue to live, work and play. The area is also the chosen home of the Metis Nation Columbia River.
