Golden Community Economic Development (Golden CED) is a resourceful organization that works with community members to build supportive systems for individuals and groups that live, work, and play in our small mountain town.
From developing the CED Strategy for Golden and area to creating community housing, Golden CED aims to build a sustainable future and improve the quality of life for all residents.
What is Community Economic Development (CED)?
It's a process where the community influences economic development initiatives through residents being able to identify and initiate opportunities to build an affordable, sustainable and inclusive community to live out healthy and meaningful lifestyles.
Our service area includes the Town of Golden and CSRD Area A (Rural Golden - Parson, Nicholson, Donald, Blaeberry, Field, and Kicking Horse Mountain Resort).
Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Golden is surrounded by six national parks and offers an unparalleled mountain lifestyle. We serve both urban and rural residents across this beautiful region.

For thousands of years, the abundance of the earth’s lands and waters provided us to live, work and play is a result of the ecological wisdom, stewardship and reciprocal relationship of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc peoples whose unceded territory we continue to live, work and play. The area is also the chosen home of the Metis Nation Columbia River.
