Lights, Mountains, Action

Golden sits where the Kicking Horse and Columbia Rivers meet, at the crossroads of Highways 1 and 95, in the middle of some of the most filmable terrain in the Rockies. Productions have already found it — now Golden is making sure they can work here easily. Backed by a new film sector roundtable and membership in the Kootenay Film Commission, Golden CED and its partners are building the permitting, location library, and local workforce a production needs to say yes.

For thousands of years, the abundance of the earth’s lands and waters provided us to live, work and play is a result of the ecological wisdom, stewardship and reciprocal relationship of the Ktunaxa and Secwepemc peoples whose unceded territory we continue to live, work and play. The area is also the chosen home of the Metis Nation Columbia River.
